
Our objective during this project was to try and create a new squad in Into The Breach using mechanics present in the game but that we felt were not used enough.
So we analysed all the squad and their core design philosophies.
At the end we based our squad on the idea of a squad supporting an enourmous mech similar to the gigantic cannons used during World War 2, with a massive power of desctruction, with the drawback of a really limited movement range.
To counter that, we aimed to create support units to our main unit, that will focus their mechanics on ennemy placement.
We felt that this alternative playstile was not really present in the game, or not to this extent.
In a nutshell, with this squad, placement is paramount, and you will need to move the ennemy into your range to be able to hit them. An ultimate and litteral glass cannon.
