You're witnessing the birth of a new lifeform, unstable and ephemeral, that can't survive without your help. It's your job to help it grow and develop to protect the main core.
Alive was a school project realized at ICAN for a semester long developement with a team of 4 people on Unity.
Alive is Tower Defense/ Management Game with a top down perspective where the player is able to control cells capable of growing and multiplying. For that they can transmit energy to each other and power themselves up by being close to each other. One drawback however is that they can’t be alone, or else they will die really fast.
With Alive we wished to create an experience based on the manipulation of small entities inside a bigger system with a ruleset and dynamics. We wanted to let the player to control those entities and create small living and organic colonies with a risk of instability, to give the player a sense of accomplishement if they manage to keep their colonies up for a long time in hostile environnement.

In this project I have worked solely on Game Design from start to finish.
It was also my first mobile game attempt with a concept that tried to appeal to that format. This implied a lot of new challenges I never faced in my previous PC only projects, like the controls, UI and UX of the game. It was a challenging project that taught me a lot.
